Nuria Castán, Völkl Snowboard Rider International team, she has started her second season on the Freeride World Qualifier with a great preseason in New Zealand, where almost a month stay in that country will be training with local Riders and participating in different competitions FWQ circuit in New Zealand.
After a long journey of about 24 hours, Castán landed at Queenstown in the South Island of the country and she moved to Wanaka which is where it will be based on this stay. The first few days have been acclimatization and knowledge of ski resorts like Cardrona and Treble Cone where she has begun her training for next season.

Official competitions have begun soon as it has played a total of three competitions, the first two were held in the ski resort Remarkables (near Queenstown) in the first, which was 2*, Castán had a fall in the top of descent and was relegated to 6th place in the final standings.
The second competition was held also in Remarkables, but this time it was in a much more complex area in Alta Chutes, as the competition was the highest level of 4*, in this competition Castán decided not to risk too much and despite making a solid decline, seamless, very fluently and successfully landed a double jump could only get a creditable 4th place is the best result of all FWQ obtained in the top competitions 4 *.

Finally in the ski resort of Mt. Olympus, in the north of the island, Castán moved to participate in the final competition of this season, it is proof 2 and in this, Castán could develop their full potential, making a big drop, fast, very fluid and with two jumps perfectly carried out, which earned her to climb to the top of the podium since winning her first of the season in FWQ.

For now, Castán will continue training in another ski resort of NZ, Temple Basin a ski resort absolutely Back Country, it is only possible to walk and luggage, snowboards etc … up the properties the ratrack machine, as a curiosity the ski resort Chairlifts not available, as in Europe, has only Nutcrocker tows model, a model virtually obsolete in Europe but is widely used in NZ, finally, in these ski resorts of Mt.
