Nuria Castán, Rider of the International Team of Head Snowboards, continues her journey in the 2017/18 season, this time, after her austral summer in New Zealand, in Canada, specifically in Revelstoke, Mecca of Freeride in that country
Tomorrow she will play its first competition in the northern hemisphere, specifically Seperate Realty Bowl (attached photo), this competition will be carried out with a different system to that commonly used in Europe, are two days of competitions, in which the first day is eliminatory and only a small number of Riders go to the final. Consequently, this competition is very important as it’s what gives way to the grand final to play the day after tomorrow at the North Bowl (photo attached).
This system is a novelty for Nuria Castán, since normally in Europe the system of competition is a single descent, without eliminatory or previous.
It’s also their first competition, without their coach Jan Casals, who suffered a serious injury training with Nuria Castán in Obersdörf (Austria) in mid-December when falling down a small precipice, we expect their speedy recovery although this season will be difficult, is going to be another handicap for Nuria Castán not having the coach who has been her side for the last two years, we hope that this sensitive lack does not affect his performance, apart from this elimination system that’s new for Nuria Castán.

At the moment Nuria holds the second position with respect to the ranking 2018 in the division of Europe-Oceania and maintains options to be among the first 5 at the end of the season that would be its most important goal, although with the Revelstoke competition in Canada tomorrow, begins the real competition in Europe where it has confirmed its participation in different 4 * events such as Les Arcs (France) and Hochfügen (Austria), as well as Jasna (Slovakia), Nendaz (Switzerland) and Obergurl (Austria). Their participation will depend on the results obtained in the first tests of the season in Canada and in Europe.
